Defending champion Lance Armstrong won the 11th stage of the Tour de France today, a32-kilometre mountain time-trial between Grenoble and Chamrousse.

The US Postal star won his second successive stage after clocking a time of 1hr 7min 27sec.

He finished a minute clear of arch-rival Jan Ullrich, with third place going to Spain's Joseba Beloki.

Frenchman Francois Simon retains the yellow jersey and overall lead, with Armstrong 13min 0.7sec behind in third place. Ullrich is fifth overall.
