The Broadcasting Commission of Ireland (BCI) is seeking a mix of speech and music programming aimed at listeners in the 15-34 age group. It will give a 10-year contract to the successful applicant. The new service will cover Kerry, Limerick, Clare, north Tipperary and southwest Laois.

The closing date for applications is April 19th.

The service is currently operated by Limerick's Live 95FM, but that contract will expire in October next year.

The BCI is also considering an application from Dublin radio station Newstalk 106FM for a quasi-national news and speech sound broadcasting service aimed at the over-25 age group.

The service area will include a large part of the State but it will not provide universal coverage. This contract is also for 10 years.
