Gardai in Shannon, Co Clare, are seeking assistance in tracing Mr George Simmons (79), who has been missing from his home at Aidan Park since last Thursday.
Mr Simmons is described as being "very distinguished looking" and is of slim build, 5ft 6in in height, with grey hair combed back. When last seen he was wearing a navy raincoat and a tweed hat. He may have been on his way to Limerick.
Gardai say there is no suggestion of foul play and that Mr Simmons may have suffered a memory lapse and got lost. Anyone with information is asked to contact gardai at Shannon, telephone 061 361212, or any Garda station.
