Gardaí have launched an appeal for the public's help with their investigation into the murder of Patrick 'Paddy' Hart in Raheny last year.

Hart (42) of 94 Edenmore Avenue, Raheny, Dublin 5 had just returned home after delivering his children to school when he was shot a number of times as he sat in his silver Opel Vectra (05-D-76763).

The shooting happened at approximately 9am on Monday 29th May 2006.

After the shooting the gunman made his getaway on a motorcycle, driven by an accomplice, down Edenmore Avenue into Springdale Road, and then turned right onto Tonlegee Road.

Gardaí said the driver of the bike is described as being of stout build, wearing a tight-fitting black motorcycle jacket and a black helmet with a visor while the gunman was described as being of thin build, wearing dark clothes with a black balaclava or helmet.

Harte was linked to a number of criminal gangs in west Dublin for which he had laundered drugs money through a shop he owned in the city.
