United Nations - The Security Council will meet on June 27th to recommend the appointment of Mr Kofi Annan to a second five-year term as Secretary-General of the United Nations, the council president said yesterday. Mr Anwarul Chowdhury, ambassador of Bangladesh to the UN and council president for June, said there was "widespread, almost unanimous agreement on giving the secretary-general a second mandate".
