Andrews to head Irish Red Cross

The former minister for foreign affairs, Mr David Andrews, is to head the Irish Red Cross for the next three years.

The former minister for foreign affairs, Mr David Andrews, is to head the Irish Red Cross for the next three years.

Mr Andrews retired from the Government earlier this year and is to give up his Dail seat at the next general election.

The 65-year-old barrister also served as defence and marine minister and in junior ministerial roles.
