The draw has been made for the afternoon fourball matches with quite a few changes being made to Sam Torrance¿s European side, who go into the fourth series of games with a narrow 6.5-5.5 lead after sharing the points in this morning¿s foursomes.

The Scot will introduce the third Swede in the team for the first time as Jesper Parnevik will tee it up alongside his fellow countryman Niclas Fasth, who lost yesterday morning with Padraig Harrington. They will face Mark Calcavecchia and David Duval in the top match at 12.30 p.m.

Harrington has been re-introduced to play alongside Colin Montgomerie, breaking up the successful partnership the Scot had with Bernhard Langer, as they take on the formidable partnership of Phil Mickelson and David Toms.

Sergio Garcia and Lee Westwood have been rewarded for their 100 per cent record up to this point as they remain paired for the fourth consecutive game to play Tiger Woods and David Love III, winners over Darren Clarke and Thomas Bjorn this morning.

In the bottom match Clarke with team up with fellow Irishman Paul McGinley to take on Scott Hoch and Jim Furyk.

In this morning's foursomes, the US put the first two points on the board to lead 5.5-4.5 with wins in the top and bottom games. European rookies Phillip Price and Pierre Fulke lost to Mickelson and Toms while Tiger Woods got revenge on Clarke and Bjorn to the tune of 4&3 playing alongside Love III in the bottom match.

Westwood and Garcia triumphed once again 2&1 against Stuart Cink and Jim Furyk while Monty and Langer endured another close encounter.

The influential Scot drained an eight foot putt for a win on the 17th to go one up playing the last. As ever Monty found the fairway on the 18th and this time, unlike yesterday, Langer found the putting surface where the Scot then almost holed from 40 feet. The par was enough to win the point as the Americans missed their birdie pitch from the fringe.
