Aldridge to discuss Bohemians post

Former Republic of Ireland striker John Aldridge will today talk to double winners Bohemians about taking over as manager.

Former Republic of Ireland striker John Aldridge will today talk to double winners Bohemians about taking over as manager.

Liverpool-born Aldridge (43) resigned as Tranmere boss in March and has since been focusing on media work, but the former Liverpool forward will meet with Bohemians officials to discuss a return to management.

Bohs have had a poor season with little chance of retaining their title, and boss Pete Mahon resigned this week.

Aldridge, who won 69 Republic of Ireland caps and scored 19 goals for his country, is in the frame for the post after former Anfield team-mate Ronnie Whelan pulled out of the running, preferring to continue coaching in Cyprus.
