Mr Affrin Xhafa (21), of no fixed abode, is accused of causing grievous bodily harm to Bosnian security man Mr Bkrija Hota at Abrakebabra, Upper O'Connell Street, on June 17th.

Det Sgt John McMahon objected to bail, saying the defendant had given a false name and identity card when arrested.

Det Sgt McMahon told Dublin District Court further charges were being considered.

Defence solicitor Ms Jenny McKeever said the accused was, applying for refugee status and had been in the State for 18 months, living on social welfare.

Judge Gerard Haughton remanded him in custody to July 2nd with consent to independent bail of £5,000 with condition he reside at an address approved by the court.
