Sinn Féin President Gerry Adams MP has criticised the resolution adopted at today¿s Ulster Unionist Council meeting as a 'wrecker's charter'.
Warning against a `knee-jerk reaction', he said he would be seeking meetings with the governments and with other political parties, including David Trimble's UUP. He said many would be disappointed, though `not exactly surprised' by the decision.

Today's resolution sets out a time-frame for Ulster Unionist withdrawal from the Executive in three months if they are not satisfied with the Republicans' commitment to the peace process.
Mr Adams said today's decision was evidence unionism had not yet `risen to the challenge presented by the imperative for change' and that this could not be tolerated.
He said Sinn Féin cautioned about this development at a meeting with the Taoiseach and the British Prime Minister last week. Sinn Féin will be seeking meetings with both governments, with Mr. Trimble and with other parties.
The Sinn Féin leader said it was the ninth occasion the UUP have received concessions only to make `more demands'. He said that `Effectively what the UUP has signed up for is a wrecker's charter.'
He called on the governments to fill the vacuum that has developed and reiterated his belief there was no alternative to the Good Friday Agreement.
