Jerusalem - Two American women are planning to sue the Palestinian leader, Mr Yasser Arafat, for $5 million in an Israeli court for damages resulting from the 1985 hijacking of the ship Achille Lauro, their lawyer said yesterday.
Ms Nitsana DarshanLeitner said she filed the suit with the Jerusalem district court on behalf of the two women passengers on the hijacked liner. The ship was seized by a faction of Mr Arafat's PLO.
