Contraband cigarettes valued at €740,000 were seized by Revenue Customs officers in Rosslare last night.
The 2,400,000 illegal cigarettes were taken from a ferry which had arrived from Cherbourg
They were found behind packages containing tables and chairs on an unaccompanied container.
The Revenue said that no arrests were made and investigations are continuing.
