Hong Kong - Nearly 50 people were injured yesterday when a China Southern Airlines aircraft plunged 4,000 feet after hitting turbulence.

Local television showed passengers being wheeled off the Boeing 757 on stretchers, some with heavily bandaged heads and necks. A Hong Kong government spokesman said flight CZ-341 was flying from Kunming to Hong Kong, carrying 160 passengers.
