THREE men appeared before a special sitting of Kells District Court last night in connection with the seizure of heroin in Clonee, Co Meath, on Saturday.

Mr Paul Saunders (28), of Foxborough Lane, Lucan Mr James Talbot (26), of Foxborough Court, Lucan and Mr Thomas Black (28), of Liberty House, Railway Street, Dublin, were all charged with possession of the drug at Loughsallagh, Clonee, on March 1st, and with intent to supply.

Bail was refused for Mr Saunders and Mr Talbot after gardai said they were afraid they would abscond.

The court heard that Mr Black, who was found in the vicinity, had a job and had never been in Mountjoy Prison before. Judge John Brophy set bail terms for him on his own bond of £200 and independent surety of £50,000. All were remanded to Dunshaughlin District Court tomorrow.
