A robber took a postman's bicycle and postbag and cycled away, Dublin District Court heard yesterday. He rode to a waiting car, ditched the bike and took off with the sack full of mail.
The driver of the car, David Rooney (27), Durrow Road, Dublin, was sentenced to 200 hours' community service after he pleaded guilty to his part in the crime on Greentrees Road, Walkinstown, on July 27th, 2000.
