MOGADISHU - At least 17 people have been killed in two days of fierce fighting between militia loyal to the Somali warlord Gen Mohamed Farah Aidid and those supporting his rival Mr Osman Ali Atto, medical workers said yesterday.
The violence erupted on Thursday as the EU Humanitarian Affairs Commissioner Ms Emma Bonino and her delegation were touring north Mogadishu.
