Sydney - At least 15 people have been confirmed dead in a fire at a backpackers' hostel in the Queensland town of Childers, about 300 km north of Brisbane, according to Australian police.
The hostel is believed to have had 86 people in the building at the time of the fire, with local radio reporting 70 people had been rescued.
