An 11 year old boy whose leg was broken when he was knocked down by a car was awarded over £10,000 damages.
Ms Patricia Dillon, counsel for Karl Cox, Carndonagh Drive, Donaghmede, Dublin, said yesterday there would be problems in proving liability. The boy, then eight, had run out from the front of a van in front of a car.
The Circuit Court President, Mr Justice Frank Spain, approved an insurance company settlement offer of £10,345.
