World class lego challenge

A great free day out in the West for Lego-mad young people aged 9 to 17- and their Lego-mad parents and teachers- is to be had at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Galway today . The "First Lego League" will be holding its ninth Irish "world class" challenge, which is a competition amongst teams from around Ireland to qualify for the European and world championships. Hundreds of Lego fanatics, many on school teams, will be battling robot-to-robot amidst flashing lights, blasting music and nerve-wracking competition. Families are invited to observe the battles and root for their favourite robot. Admission is free and the event takes place from 10am-4pm.
