Doonbeg seafood fest

If you’re close to Clare this weekend then head for Doonbeg and its seafood festival. Clodagh McKenna, who recently opened her first cookery school in Ireland in the Village at Lyons, joins fish restaurateur Aidan McManus of Howth’s King Sitric and New York chef Ben Pollinger of the Oceana Restaurant in Manhattan, for live cookery demonstrations. The festival was created by the local community to reflect its fishing tradition and place emphasis on seafood in local restaurants.

Children can enjoy pony and trap rides, puppet shows, face painting and a crab fishing competition. See doonbegseafoodfestival.com.
