Concern ChallengeWere you ever tempted to take up an exotic challenge, such as cycling in Tanzania, India or Cambodia – or, closer to home, biking around the west non-stop for 24 hours – but put off, for whatever reason?

Concern is showcasing these and other fund-raising challenges that it stages at the Westbury Hotel, in Dublin, today from 6pm until 9pm.

Fancy a spot of shark fishing? Baltimore Deep Sea Angling Festival, which takes place next weekend, from Thursday to Sunday, includes shark fishing and a three-day ground-fishing competition for individuals and teams. Heritage Week, which begins today and runs until tomorrow week, sees the revival of traditional outdoor entertainment in the form of dancing at the crossroads. Dancers and spectators can head to Laharn Cross, Lombardstown, Mallow, tomorrow and next Sunday at 8pm for céilí music and dancing.
