Spirituality walkA Soul Walk in the High Burren takes place on Sunday, August 1st from 10am at the Slieve Carran Nature Reserve, Co Clare. Run by Heart of Burren Walks, the walk follows the footsteps of pilgrims and penitents, and examines their relationship with the natural world.

Among the highlights are holy wells and blessed trees; Easter miracles and cryptic tombs; sacred hills and outdoor altars; pilgrim paths and forgotten oratories. Commentaries by Tony Kirby feature the festival of Lughnasa; the folklore of native trees; early Christian Ireland; medieval pilgrimage; and the demise of the holy well.

Bug SafariWicklow Mountains National Park hosts another of its popular family fun days on Thursday, July 29th between 2pm and 4pm at the Education Centre in Glendalough. Suitable for primary school children, it will be an afternoon of nature-based activities, including art and nature walks. The focus will be on bugs, creepy-crawlies and mini-beasts.
