IT'S A FREE WORLD:KIDS' NIGHT on Broadway in New York runs from February 5th to 9th where children aged six to 18 can see a show for free when accompanied by a full-paying adult.

In addition to show discounts and restaurant deals, kids are invited to free pre-theatre events. Shows include Mary Poppins, Godspell, Mamma Mia, Spidermanand Sister Act.

On February 7th kids can meet cast members from Broadway shows, take part in fun activities and explore Madame Tussauds. Admission is free to kids and their parent or guardian who presents their kids’ night theatre tickets for a participating show dated from February 5th-9th.

Catch: tickets sell fast and some shows, such as the Lion King,are sold out. Adult tickets aren't cheap – prices for Spidermanare from $70-$160 (€52-€119) and Mary Poppinsis from €66.75 to €129.75.

DUCKETT’S Grove Historic House is being turned into a winter wonderland by Carlow Tourism on December 11th when it hosts a Christmas fair with freebies galore, including face painting, a live nativity scene, Christmas stories and performances by local musical and entertainment groups. At 2pm and 4pm there’s a kids’ game show with karaoke and balloon-making.

There will also be free horse-drawn carriage rides and a falconry display.

The fair will showcase the best of Carlow from food to crafts and includes weaving, butter-making displays, basket-making, woodturning, and a blacksmith throughout the day.

SUNWAY is offering a free upgrade at the five-star Princesa Yaiza suite hotel resort on Playa Blanca in Lanzarote for anyone travelling on January 14th or 21st, or March 3rd.

A suite accommodates two adults and two children while a junior suite fits two adults and one child. Sunway is also throwing in €50 credit to spend at any restaurant in the resort.

Seven nights in January costs from €949 per adult and €699 per child while in March it is €1,079 per adult and €789 per child. Prices include flights, transfers, 20kg baggage allowance and all taxes and charges.

Catch:it would have been an even better deal if family two-bedroom suites with a living area and two bathrooms were included.
