D’Arcy marries partner at humanist ceremony in Meath

Today FM presenter ’overjoyed’ after ceremony held at Tankardstown House

Today FM presenter Ray D'Arcy (48) and his long-term partner Jenny Kelly got married at an intimate humanist ceremony at Tankardstown House in Co Meath today.

The couple were married by humanist Susie Kennedy at 3pm and their daughter Kate (5) was chief flower girl.

Ms Kelly wore a dress by British designer Jenny Packham, her sister Suzanne and her cousin Niamh O’Connor were bridesmaids, wore dresses by Laura Jane Halton.

Colm Whelan was groomsman, Darren Smith was best man while Michael Kelly was usher. Musician Declan O’Rourke played the song Gallileo at the ceremony.

Among the 116 guests in attendance were broadcaster Ian Dempsey and his wife Ger, former Today FM chief executive Willie O’Reilly, current Today FM chief Peter McPartlin, broadcasters Mairead Farrell, Will Hanafin, Tony Fenton,Tommy Tiernan and wife Yvonne.

Speaking briefly to media after the ceremony D’Arcy said: “I’m overjoyed, every second of it is brilliant”.

D’Arcy and his Ms Kelly (40) have been engaged since 2012, having first got together in 2005 when she worked as producer and copresenter on his programme. They have two children together, Kate and Tom (1).

Security was tight for the event, and guests entering the grounds of Tankardstown House had to show their wedding invitation and their name on the guest list to gain entry to the grounds of the hotel.

The former Rose of Tralee and Den TV presenter and his wife Jenny are believed to have booked the boutique hotel out for the day to ensure their privacy for the event.

Upon entering the walled venue, guests were entertained by music before being led inside for the ceremony which was conducted inside. Guests will enjoy a three course meal which will include champagne and canapés.
