THE SOCIAL NETWORK:The former model Grace O'Shaughnessy was catching up with the award-winning hairstylist Frank Hession in the foyer of the National Concert Hall in Dublin on Wednesday afternoon for The Three Sopranos' Christmas gala matinee in association with The John Murray Show on RTÉ Radio 1.

The concert was presented by Murray and starred Celine Byrne, Regina Nathan and Cara O’Sullivan, who sang such favourites as Holst’s In the Bleak Midwinter and Bach/Gounod’s Ave Maria.

Sr Mary Threadgold RSC, the speech and language therapist who founded Sonas on Merrion Road in Dublin 4 – which trains people caring for older people who have dementia – liked the “line-up of the RTÉ National Symphony Orchestra and the sopranos”. Kells parish choir members Margie O’Neill, Kathleen Conaty, Liz Smyth and Marie Gibney travelled to Dublin for the concert.

Highlights from the concert will be broadcast on RTÉ Radio 1 at 4pm on Christmas Day.
