Achill en fête

If you’re in the west today, head to Achill for Féile Bia na Mara, taking place all weekend. Today Walk and Talk with Birdwatch Mayo – meet in the car park at the Cliffs in Dookinella at 10am. Bring binoculars and a snack. Afterwards, head to Lourdies in Dooagh for oysters washed down with Guinness. On Sunday, if you’ve packed wellies or other suitable footwear, take a free seaweed safari with Annette O’Leary.

Meet at Purteen Harbour in Keel at 1.30pm.

Then help the kids create a monumental design to enter in the sandcastle competition on Dugort’s Golden Strand.
