Volvo has released details of the long-awaited replacement of the C70 coupe.

The new model, due to debut at the Frankfurt motor show in September, will feature a new three-piece retractable hard-top roof. The new look is the work of Italian design house Pininfarina.

Similar in size to the current model, Volvo claims it will be a full four-seater. The engine range will feature a choice of five-cylinder petrol engines, including a 220 bhp T5. In addition, a five-cylinder, 180 bhp diesel engine is due to join the range during 2006.

The new C70 will be available to order from mid-September with the first Irish deliveries in early 2006.
