MAZDA IS to unveil off its sportiest Mazda3 model, the MPS, at the Geneva Motor Show next month.

Although full details of the car are yet to be confirmed, it will still carry forward the MZR 2.3 DISI turbo engine, which is likely to see a slight increase in power from the previous model’s 255bhp. The MPS’s styling will be more aggressive, including a wide bonnet scoop and deeper front grille.

Alongside the flagship MPS will be an eco-friendly i-stop model to join the new Mazda3 line-up. Mazda’s stop-start technology will be coupled with the MZR 2.0 DISI (direct injection spark ignition) engine which is expected to lower urban fuel consumption by 12 per cent over the standard Mazda3.
