CHILDLINE CYCLE 2005: The 2005 Childline Cycle is taking place from tomorrow until Saturday May 28th. Thirty cyclists will participate - the route is as follows:

Thurs May 26th - Dublin, Hill of Tara, Navan, Slane Castle, Drogheda. Fri May 27th Drogheda, Ardee, Carrickmacross, Forkhill, Carlingford. Saturday May 28th Carlingford, Dundalk, Malahide, Dublin

Slow down and be careful approaching cyclists.

DUBLIN: Barnacullia and Ballyedmoduff road be closed from Slate Cabin Lane to Burrow Rd from May 30th.

This is for essential drainage and road reconstruction works. Local access will be maintained at all times. Alternative route will be via Blackglen Rd, Enniskerry Rd and Burrow Rd and vice versa. A traffic management plan will be in operation and diversions will be signposted.

There are lane restrictions on Link Road from Upper Kilmacud Road to Blackthorn Road from 8am-6pm each day until June 3rd.

KILDARE: Until the end of May 2005 roadworks will continue in Naas on Dublin Rd, Fishery lane & at Maudlins Interchange. Traffic management has been set up in order to carry out works in connection with the N7 road widening & Interchange Scheme.

KILKENNY: Restrictions in place for the construction of a new roundabout at the junction of O'Loughlin Road and Hebron Road. Shouldn't cause too much of an obstruction.

LAOIS: There are roadworks on the N7 at various locations between Ballaghmore and Castletown from 8am to 6pm Monday to Friday and from 8am to 3pm on Satruday. Works will continue until July 16th approximately. There is a Stop/Go system and traffic lights in operation for the duration of the works.

WESTMEATH: Until approximately June 3rd resurfacing works on the R446 from the Golden Island roundabout to the Washhouse Turn in Athlone. Traffic management diversions will be in place and motorists are advised to expect delays in travel times in this area.

SLIGO: From Mon May 23rd a new system of traffic management for Sligo city centre comes into operation. The system is being introduced to alleviate traffic congestion in the Mall, Stephen Street and Bridge Street area.

Until Tues June 30th, there will be a diversion of traffic in the area South of Hughes Bridge (Queens Store Road). This is to allow the tie-in of the new Inner Relief Road with the bridge.

LIMERICK: Clancy Strand is closed from its junction with the Ennis Road to its junction with the N7 until June 10th.

KERRY: There are major roadworks on the National Secondary Road N86 west of Camp village until the first week in June.

There are major roadworks in place on the N70 Ring of Kerry.

There are traffic restrictions in place between Kells Station and Cahirciveen. Delays are expected daily for the duration of the works, which are expected to continue until mid-July.

CORK: Oliver Plunkett St closed from Parnell Place to Beasley St and from Smith St to Caroline St until further notice for roadworks.
