Bike news:BMW unveiled its F 800 R at the EICMA 2008 Milan Motorcycle Show and at the recent Toys 4 Big Boys Show in Dublin.

This new roadster is fitted with a parallel twin engine with four-valve technology and a capacity of 798cc but with power uprated to 87hp. It is closely based on the design of the BMW K 1300 R, which was also launched this year the distinctively sporty F 800 R possesses considerable sprinting power, according to BMW.

The new F 800 R is also fitted with a new double-sided swingarm constructed from a light alloy cast.

It's available with an ABS system with a newly developed pressure sensor for improved safety.

There's no price confirmed for this motorcycle yet, "although it will be confirmed very soon", according to Dave Humphreys at Joe Duffy Motorrad.

BMW also introduced its theirLo Rider concept motorcycle at the Milan Motorcycle Show.This concept is, according to BMW, "purist, powerful, unfaired and reduced to the absolute essentials".

Rossi to test Formula 1 car

MotoGP World Champion rider Valentino Rossi is set to test a Ferrari Formula One car on tomorrow and Friday, November 20th and 21st.

The eight times world champion will take part in a private test in Mugello.

He will drive the F2008, which is the car used by regular drivers Felipe Massa and Kimi Raikkonen in the GP races this year.
