AS A sign of the changing nature of engine technology, Jaguar is due to introduce the most powerful version of its XF range – this time powered by diesel.

The XF Diesel S has a 275bhp 3.0-litre diesel unit offering an impressive 600Nm of torque and a 0-100km/h time of under six seconds. Emissions are 179g/km with a fuel consumption figure of 6.7 L/100km, making it more efficient and more powerful than the current 2.7 litre V6 diesel.

Prices have yet to be confirmed but the new car is due in Ireland in early spring.
