The versatility of Irish lamb will be celebrated at the second annual Roscommon Lamb Festival, which takes place from April 29th to May 4th.

TV chef Clodagh McKenna will be in town for a cooking demo on Friday, May 1st, doing a farmers’ market walkabout between 10am and 2pm and cooking in the festival marquee that evening at 8pm. On Saturday night at 8pm, a Brazilian/Irish barbecue (€15; under-12s €5) will serve up an all-you-can-eat lamb feast. The highlight of the final day is a global culinary event in the festival marquee at 4pm. For the full programme, see roscommonlambfestival.com. mcdigby@irishtimes.com
