White is right for terraced house

Rathgar/€1.9m: A family home in a small enclave of houses off Dartry Road has been updated and redecorated with great style, writes Bernice Harrison

Sunbury Park is a small enclave of houses built over 10 years ago at the back of Sunbury Gardens off Dartry Road. Number 2 last came on the market a little more than a year ago and the family are on the move again having redecorated and updated the four-bedroom house. It is for auction on July 5th through Sherry FitzGerald with an AMV of €1.9 million.

The changes from the last time it was on the market are easy to spot. The kitchen area has been reworked so that what was once a galley kitchen is now better planned and enlarged, and kitted out with smart-looking painted timber units; the access to the garden is improved with double doors now opening out from the back reception room and, overall, the house has been freshly painted and decorated from top to bottom.

The accommodation is over three levels so these houses are larger than they appear. The largest bedroom is on the top floor and it has a shower room en suite - updated by the present owners and a good-sized walk-in wardrobe.

On the second level there are three bedrooms, the largest, used currently as a children's room, has an en suite and a walk-in wardrobe. As this wardrobe is to the front of the house and has a window, it could usefully be turned into a small study. There's a family bathroom on this level.
