Another of the season's successful classic designs with a contemporary slant is the twist kitchen stool - a cast aluminium base and a natural beech seat high stool, launched earlier this season.

"It is very, very simple but not scarily minimalist and it is very calm," says Emer Shaw, manager of Haus. "It would fit just as well in a traditional kitchen as a contemporary one and a lot of new apartments and houses have counters, so most people need to buy at least two stools."
