Stark and Starck with antique touches

The diningroom of Milverton is a dazzling white space - painted in Farrow & Ball's Slipper Satin - where a few stunning antiques get the limelight.

A similar chandelier, if French and original, would cost about €4,000-€5,000. Chandelier.ie (061 22 88 22) has a reproduction Evelina light fitting at €1,800 in a similar shape. A more contemporary touch is the Romeo Moon Floor Lamp by Philippe Starck, from Haus (01-6795155 ) at €1,060 . The Adams-style fireplace by Artefaction (01-677 6495) costs around €7,400. The parquet floor was sanded and limed by EV Kidd (01-811 0722) for €23 a sq yard.
