Co Mayo: €290,000Overseas clients were among early buyers at an upmarket hotel and sports resort in Co Mayo that expects to attract international teams participating in the 2012 London Olympics.

Breaffy House Resort and International Sports Hotel near Castlebar has already hosted the Munster Rugby team, who trained here during this year's Heineken Cup. The new Sports Hotel is across a stream from the old Breaffy House Hotel, which is set in 90 acres of Mayo countryside.

Built and ready to move into, 10 93sq m (1,000sq ft) two-bedroom apartments, that were furnished and fitted out by designer Paul Costelloe, remain for sale out of 24 attached to the sport hotel. They cost €290,000 and include a guaranteed three-year rental income of €14,500 a year, with six weeks private usage, excluding the summer months and mid-term breaks. Owners can access all hotel facilities and have substantial reductions on spa and restaurant prices.

The sports facilities are a huge attraction. Apart from the Keith Wood Centre for Sports Training & Excellence, there is a 20-metre pool, state-of-the-art gymnasium, luxury spa, 2,787sq m (30,000sq ft) indoor arena, Astroturf pitch, crazy golf and driving bays, forest walking trails and a Little Tykes activity park. There are four bars and three restaurants between the two hotels.
