SANDYMOUNT €1.1M: One of the terraced redbrick houses on St John's Road in Sandymount, Dublin 4, has come on the market through Lisney asking €1.1 million by private treaty.

With the seafront at the end of the road, St John's has always been a popular road where houses don't come up for sale too often.

Selling agent Tom Day describes the asking price as "reasonable and realistic". In fact, the value is back to levels seen in 2004, when a similar house changed hands at around the same money.

Number 19 needs work, and so might appeal to the small number of buyers out there looking to add value to a well-located property. On the plus side, it has many of its original features intact throughout the floor area of 122sq m (1,313sq ft).

The layout is traditional with two good-sized reception rooms on the ground floor divided by high folding doors. A large kitchen can be reached off the diningroom - at over 18ft long it has space for a working kitchen and an eating or sitting area.

It also has patio doors leading to the garden which stretches to almost 70ft and has a large shed and rear access.

Upstairs the main bedroom mirrors the drawingroom below, with an attractive bay window and an original cast-iron fireplace.

A second double bedroom and a further single bedroom share a bathroom on the lower landing which has antique fittings.
