INFAMOUS former trader Nick Leeson, who brought down Barings Bank in 1995 with reckless trading, is now selling property in the Algarve in Portugal.

Nick, who lives in Ireland with his second wife Leona and is the new chief executive of Galway United Football Club, has turned his life around since his ‘rogue trader’ days. However, he obviously still likes the frisson of risk-taking. Why else would he get involved in a property venture in the current climate?

A consultant with Algarve Developments, he shows people around luxury villas and apartments such as Floresta Golf Views estate, a collection of seven luxury 160sq m (1,722sq ft) villas with private pools, Jacuzzis, a mini-spa and gym and outdoor barbecue areas overlooking the Parque da Floresta golf and spa resorts in Budens, Algarve.
