River Island fashion chain sets sights on Galway

The UK multiple, River Island, is moving into Galway city centre where they are to lease O'Connors TV shop at 14/15 Shop Street. The company will be paying O'Connors a rent of over £200,000 for about 6,000 sq ft on three levels. O'Connors also have an outlet at Galway Retail Park. River Island's new outlet will be directly opposite the new Boots store which is also to open later this year. River Island also operates shops in Dublin's Grafton Street, Arnotts in Henry Street, Blanchardstown Town Centre and Cruises Street, in Limerick. They are also to have a presence in Liffey Valley Shopping Centre, opening in October. Colliers Jackson Stops acted for River Island and Terry Cunningham advised O'Connors.
