A new quayside apartment development in Galway is being launched off plans this week, with prices starting at £125,000 for a one-bedroom unit. Sherry FitzGerald is the selling agent for Caislean na Mara, which will be built on Dock Road with good sea and quayside views. With the location within the working harbour and a stroll from Eyre Square, letting potential is good and the scheme is likely to attract both owner/occupiers and investors.

There are 30 units being released in the first phase. All 77 apartments in the scheme will be completed by autumn of next year, according to Ailbhe O'Malley, of Sherry FitzGerald, who is handling sales. The complex will also have a 130-bedroom hotel, which is expected to be taken over by a mid-price national hotel chain. Initially, 10 three-bedroom, five one-bedroom and 15 two-bedroom duplex apartments will be on offer.

They will have a high standard of specification, with maple Shaker-style kitchens and good quality bathrooms.

The smallest units at 550 sq ft cost from £125,000. These will have an entrance hallway, sitting/diningroom, kitchen, bedroom and bathroom. The two bedroom units of 700 sq ft are priced from £160,000. They have an en suite in the main bedroom and balconies to maximise the views. Three bedroom apartments of 850 sq ft cost from £170,000. These will also have balconies.
