Describe the house

A very bright, warm Scandinavian house with two bedrooms and a huge open-plan kitchen/living area. A second floor is ready to be converted into two bedrooms and a second bathroom. It has underfloor heating and a heat exchange unit. Outside are mature gardens, surrounded by trees and a large fish pond. There's a wonderful traditional dry stone wall while huge windows to the south and west bringing light and heat into this well-maintained house.

Why are you moving

I'm doing the reverse of what most people dream of! I'm moving back to Dublin to be near my family and friends. I'm leaving behind growing organic fruit and veg, going to traditional music sessions in Kinvara and walking in beautiful Coole Park.

What's the best thing about it

It's bright, warm and peaceful. There are foxes and squirrels in the garden and whooper swans fly overhead to Coole Park. It's 22 miles from Galway city and 6 miles from Kinvara.

And the neighbourhood

There are not many neighbours! My closest neighbour keeps an eye on the place when I'm away and gives me eggs and home-made brown bread. She's the best.

The busy town of Gort is nearby for shopping and Kinvara is a short drive away for the seaside and the craic in the pubs.

Who would like to live in your home

A couple who are escaping the madness of a big city. There's a lovely little national school nearby for any kids. Or someone who likes to meditate! It would be a beautiful holiday home too, close to the Burren.
