The auction season is over for 2001, but estate agents have been busy wrapping up sales of properties launched on the market earlier this year.

Lisney has secured £1.25 million (€1.58m) by private treaty for number 5 Ailesbury Way, Dublin 4, following its withdrawal from auction at the end of September.

Situated in a gated enclave of modern redbrick detached houses off Ailesbury Road, Ballsbridge, the three-storey house has three reception rooms and a dining hall.

In Dublin 6, Sherry FitzGerald completed the sale of two large period houses: on Sandford Road in Ranelagh, number 51, a six-bedroom semi-detached property achieved £980,000 (€1.24m) and a two-storey over-garden level four-bedroom mid-terrace house, Caragh House at 76 Terenure Road East, sold for in the region of £745,000 (€945,954).

At Clanbrassil Terrace in Dublin 8, Apartment 9, The Warehouse, a large one-bedroom unit with a parking space, made about £255,000 (€323,783).

Meanwhile in Milltown, Dublin 6, a three-bedroom penthouse unit at 67 Shanagarry sold for over £250,000 (€317,434) through Lisney.

The same agent sold two Dublin 14 properties: 40 Thorncliffe Park, Rathgar, a 1950s four-bed semi-detached house, sold for close to £595,000 (€755,494) while a four-bedroom detached house at 27 Aranleigh Mount, Rathfarnham, made £266,000 (€337,750).

A refurbished 400-year old mansion, Hacketsland House on Shanganagh Road, Shankill, Co Dublin has been sold for just under £500,000 (€634,869), according to selling agent, Ganly Walters. Built around 1600, the refurbished house is completely hidden from the road behind security gates.

Jackson-Stops' Bray office sold 55 Eagle Valley in Enniskerry, Co Wicklow, for about £700,000 (€888,816). Situated within a development of large modern detached houses bordering the Powerscourt Estate, the five-bedroom house is presented in good decorative order.

In Co Galway, Ardfry House, a period house on 33 acres in Oranmore, was withdrawn from auction at £2.5 million (€3.17m) and is under negotiation through selling agent Helen Cassidy.

In commercial sales, a residential commercial premises in Sallins, Co Kildare was sold for £261,000 (€331,401) through Sherry FitzGerald O'Reilly.

Wexford agent John Corish withdrew an office block with warehousing on 6.6 acres at Kilrane, Rosslare Harbour at £1.27 million (€1.61m). It is currently under negotiation.
