Meandering path leads to interest

GARDEN designer Jane McCorkell (www.janemccorkelllandscape.ie) has transformed the back garden of Adelais, 51 Seafield Road into an ordered, almost zen-like space with enough detail and planting to keep it interesting all year around.

McCorkell, twice a gold medallist at Bloom, designed a meandering herringbone path (materials by Tobermore). The garden is broken into a series of spaces and in one part (not in the picture) there's a white granite circular dining area. McCorkell charges around €3,000 to design a garden this size with a similar level of detail.

Lighting engineer Derek Mills (086 8162231) installed a lighting system - with mood controls - and six different types of lights including LED, halogen and low voltage.
