Home & Income:CLONE HOUSE, a restored 11-bedroom Georgian country house just outside Aughrim, Co Wicklow, until recently run as a luxury guest-house, is for sale for €1.55 million. American computer executive Jeff Watson bought the house 10 years ago.

It made an income of around €200,000 a year before it closed in 2007, says Mr Watson.

The house failed to sell at auction in 2005, and is now for sale by private treaty through agent Knight Frank. New owners could continue to run it as a guest-house; Watson would consider leasing it, at €3,000 a month, or a lease/purchase agreement or running it as a joint business.

Standing on four acres of landscaped grounds, the 650sq m (7,000sq ft) historic house was built in the 1600s, rebuilt after being burnt down in 1798 - has a kitchen with an Aga, two steel gas ovens and a commercial fridge. Six of the 11 bedrooms are en suite.
