Dublin 9/from €249,950: Another new apartment development in Northwood, a development in the grounds of Santry Demesne, Dublin 9, launches today with prices starting at €249,950. A number of different developers have built there using a plan by JNP Architects.

All 90 one and two-bedroom apartments in the Heywood scheme will be launched from plans today in the offices of selling agent Hamilton Osborne King. The scheme, like developer Lyndonbarry's other developments, is likely to attract first-time buyers and some investors.

Prices are from €249,950 for one-bedroom units of 53sq m (575 ft); 67-72sq m (740-770sq ft) two-bed apartments cost from €319,950. One of the development's greatest attractions is its environment. The site, 6km from the city centre, is enclosed in grounds with wooded areas, a man-made lake and walking trails. The demesne has many deciduous trees and an oak fairy grove. Up to 75 acres has been retained as a public park.

The Crown Plaza hotel is already well established on site and Ben Dunne's newly-built West Point Health and Fitness Club is due to open in April. A Holiday Inn ios being built on the site. Meanwhile the new Gulliver Retail Park, currently under construction, will provide Northwood with a range of retail amenities.

The 90 apartments will be in three blocks. All apartments will be south facing or have a dual aspect. Kitchens will have integrated electrical appliances as standard subject to contract. Floor tiling will also be standard in the kitchen, bathroom and en suite and parking is included in the purchase price.

Apartments will be ready to move into by spring 2007, according to the selling agent. Paddy Doyle of Lyndonbarry has already built Lymewood Mews and Temple Court at Northwood.
