Lifestyle Sports, one of Ireland's largest sports retailer, is to open its 60th store in April in The Pavilions, the shopping centre soon to start trading at Swords, Co Dublin, but the chain is seeking more outlets throughout the country.

It has leased a 5,000 sq ft unit in the 250,000 sq ft shopping centre which is due to open in April and will have Dunnes Stores and Superquinn as anchor tenants. Lifestyle has agreed a rent of £225,000 per annum for the unit.

The leasing of The Pavilions unit follows closely on the recent acquisition of Lifestyle's 59th store, located at 5 William Street in Limerick. In the city's prime retailing location, it was formerly a Pound Shop and was acquired for Lifestyle by Jones Lang LaSalle against competition. Palmer McCormack represented the landlord. The shop has a total of almost 5,000 sq ft, with a ground floor sales area of 2,751 sq ft and an annual rent of £150,000 (#190,500).

Lifestyle is seeking sites in good retailing locations, with a ground floor space of at least 2,000 sq ft and units of between 7,000 and 10,000 sq ft in larger catchment areas.
