Legal tangle over planned hotel

Garret Kelleher is now expected to forge ahead with his plans for a Holiday Inn development at the junction of Parnell Street and Moore Street despite delays in ratifying the Corpo's decision to CPO part of the site. It will be remembered developers Richard Barrett and John Ronan had acquired leasehold interests adjoining the planned hotel site. The Corpo promptly slapped a CPO on the disputed property with the intention of allowing Mr Kelleher to do a comprehensive development as part of its much publicised Millennium clean-up of the city centre. The Barrett and Ronan duo is now apparently seeking a judicial review of the CPO order, a move that could delay the overall development.
