Large mountain estate in Kerry is sold for £800,000

John Hamilton of Jackson-Stops McCabe will have been glad to have fetched around £800,000 for a mountain estate in Kilgarvan, Co Kerry, which has been on the market since last July. The Sillahertane Estate is the largest sold in Ireland this year - it has 1,436 acres on the Cork-Kerry border and a two-storey Victorian house needing refurbishment. A leading Cork farming family who bought the estate are likely to use it for shooting and forestry.
