Co Wexford/from €159,950: The timing could be right to take a look at Riverchapel Wood, a new phase of houses and bungalows by the sea near Courtown, Co Wexford. Showhouses will be on view this weekend. Hooke & MacDonald is handling sales.
This new scheme is in Riverchapel, about three miles from Gorey and 55 miles from Dublin down the N11.
With its location on the edge of Courtown, some viewers will be considering these as holiday homes, though prices are attracting first-timers looking for an affordable first step on the property ladder.
The train station at Gorey is the main incentive.
In all, 60 new homes are on sale at Riverchapel Wood, mainly semis and townhouses, with just a few bungalows in the mix.
The site is under a mile from Courtown harbour and beach.
Two-bedroom houses of 85sq m (915sq ft) start at €159,950. Three-bedroom terraced houses of 96sq m (1,030sq ft) cost from €171,950. Three-bed semis of 98sq m (1,055sq ft) start at €207,500 and four-bedroom semis of 110sq m (1,180sq ft) are priced from €239,000. The bungalows have three bedrooms, 101sq m (1,090sq ft) of accommodation and cost from €239,000.
This scheme is by Pat Neville Developments, a Wexford-based company with a strong track record in the area. The majority of units are laid out in culs-de-sac overlooking open spaces.
Exteriors are part brick with the quoins and dormer-style windows typical of the area. Semis and bungalows have wide box bay windows for maximum light.
Kitchen/breakfastrooms have timber kitchens with tiled splashbacks and wall tiling in bathrooms. Most units come with en suite showers off the main bedroom.
Nearby is Courtown Forest Leisure park. Facilities include a fitness centre, adults and children's pool, health spa and café.
Buyers in phase two can expect to move in from October through to early 2006 according to the selling agent.
