Hollywood glam hits the walls at Carton Demesne

There's no need for chandeliers or chaise longues in the media room of the golf course house at Carton Demesne because full-on Hollywood glamour is instantly created by the dramatic wallcovering.

Black and white apart from the red lips of Brigitte Bardot, Ingrid Bergman and Grace Kelly, the wallcovering, made by a Swedish company, can be ordered through interior designers Spirit and Style (045-892582) and costs around €2,000.

The good news is that you can have any picture made into a wallcovering, even a giant photograph of yourself if you're going through a "me, me me" phase.

The Rolf Benz taupe three-sided leather couch is another luxurious statement piece with arm rests that double as tables to rest your popcorn on. It costs €13,003 from Houseworks (01-676 9511). The enormous footstool is part of the same range and costs €2,821.The cushions in Romo fabric are also from Spirit and Style, who did all the interiors in the house and cost €70-€80.
